I'm hoping to get some insights from those familiar with older RAM setups. I’ve got a system that supports DDR2 memory and I’m trying to figure out the following:

• What are the performance limitations of DDR2 compared to DDR3/DDR4?

• Is it worth upgrading within the DDR2 category (e.g., 667MHz to 800MHz)?

• Can DDR2 be mixed (different brands or speeds) safely, or should all sticks be identical?

• Any tips for optimizing a system still running on DDR2?

Also, if anyone has experience using DDR2 for lightweight gaming or creative projects like writing and design, I’d love to hear about your setup.
