What is Life Express about?

The movie revolves around Tanvi Banerjee (Rituparna Sengupta), a successful journalist who works for a leading magazine. She is married to Nikhil Banerjee (Kiran Janjani), a software engineer who loves her dearly. They have a happy and comfortable life in Mumbai, but they are unable to conceive a child due to Tanvi's medical condition.

Tanvi is very ambitious and career-driven, and she does not want to compromise her professional growth for anything. She even aborts her first child when she gets pregnant unexpectedly, as she feels that the baby will hamper her chances of getting a promotion. However, she soon realizes that she wants to have a baby after all, but she is unable to conceive naturally.

She then opts for surrogacy, a process where another woman carries and delivers a baby for someone else. She hires Gauri Singh (Divya Dutta), a poor and illiterate woman from a village in Rajasthan, who agrees to be a surrogate mother for money. Gauri is married to Mohan Singh (Yashpal Sharma), a farmer who is struggling to make ends meet. They have two children of their own, but they need more money to survive.

Tanvi and Nikhil pay Gauri a hefty sum to carry their baby for nine months. They also arrange for her accommodation and medical care in Mumbai. However, things do not go as smoothly as they expect. Tanvi starts feeling guilty and insecure about her decision to outsource her motherhood. She also develops a bond with Gauri and her child, which makes her question her own identity and priorities.
